Time for a Healthy Body Tune Up

Let’s talk about your car. I know, that sounds strange coming from a Doctor of Chiropractic, right? Well let’s put it into the context of your body and health. Your car’s engine relies on various fluids and filters, just as your body depends on the intake and absorption of fuel or food and the filtering, detoxification, and elimination of waste products.

Ok, so we all try to deal with the high costs of gasoline these days by searching for and using cheaper grades with more additives or less efficient blends of chemicals, resulting in poor performance and a vehicle that runs a bit more rough or sometimes stalls, and usually gets worse gas mileage than with a premium grade of fuel. This can clog fuel lines and contribute to build up on various internal parts and lead to premature deterioration of our engines.

This is true of the body as well. We look to save money, prefer convenience, tastes or worse yet become addicted to sugary sweets or processed foods. These food choices end up costing us our health in the long run. The lack of nutritional value and causative factors contribute to a plethora of maladies such as heart disease, diabetes, muscle weakness and cramping, allergies, constipation, obesity……we could go on and on here…..I’m sure you get the idea. The effects of these empty calories can be a partial, even total breakdown of ideal bodily function and health.

What can we do?

Back to the car analogy…. let’s do a complete tune up of our bodies like we would for our automobile’s air filters, fuel lines and filters, carburetor, injectors, etc. The body is your ‘vehicle’ and here you have filters, fuel lines, pumps, injectors and more in the form of kidneys, heart, liver, blood vessels and other organs the body relies on to function. When the typical car gets proper attention and maintenance, it just runs better. We’re proud to show it off and how it’s been revitalized to a like new appearance. The same is true of our revitalized bodies and we are equally proud to show our friends and families just how much more energy and stamina we now have. We feel lighter, sleep better, are more alert and aware, communicate effectively and are more efficient at work and at home. If you’ve never experienced those kinds of rewards of health, then you may consider the following healthy options to accomplish what we just discussed…….a whole body purification cleanse or detoxification program.

Check your symptoms like you would check the oil in your car.

Indulging

We’re all guilty of indulging to some extent. After all, there are many unhealthy and ohhhh soooo delicious sweet treat options to choose from. It seems like every day we hear about a new “sweet treat” or “wrapped up meat” that is advertised by food vendors or food markets that is sure to sell to a starving audience. We have become a population that is over fed and undernourished. As we ask our good doctors to fix us, we are in denial about what is really going on. The idea is to become aware and then take control and stop doing it…..for a lifetime.

There are several on the market, but the trick is to choose the right one, not based on costs, but rather nutritional wholefood value and healthy results. One that doesn’t introduce you to more suspect chemicals, but rather a combination of wholefood supplements that clear out the toxins we all have within, because of our poor eating habits. These organic supplements and specific nutritional guidelines set you on a path to rid your body of all the unhealthy fuels and contaminants ingested by bad habits and/or poor quality foods. Most of these purification or detoxification programs take around 3 weeks, at least the good ones, to rid the toxins and reestablish good digestion. They’re not difficult or invasive and as a result of the program, most who undertake the challenge lose a significant amount of weight in the process. But you have to want to improve.

These programs are based on low carbohydrate, low calorie intake with healthy fats and proteins as well. They’ve been proven to work and are recommended by many MDs, Chiropractors, Applied Clinical Nutritionist, and dieticians. If you want a body that has more energy, works more efficiently, possibly adds longevity and even improves your attitude, then take the health challenge and get your body a tune up. After all, if you wear your body out, where will you live?
